Valve Packing
|
|
The purpose of valve packing in a valve is
to prevent the leakage of the media,
either liquid or gas, in the valve to
the exterior atmosphere past the stem of
the valve. The valve packing is
contained in the valve's stuffing box.
Our high temperature valve packing, in
sets, contains squared rings of
different types of graphite materials.
Industry standard utilizes 2 sets of
pure carbon graphite rings (430) and
flexible graphite die-formed center
rings (800D). Our valve packing sets
offer the following choices.

Each
strand of graphite yarn on styles 880CD
is reinforced with a strong, graphitic
carbon fiber yarn. Carbon fiber yarns
are also added during the braiding
construction. The finished braid is a
self-lubricating, easy to use/remove;
anti-extrusion packing that is widely
used on pumps and valves.
